One of these tracks, an overdubbed version of "House Of The Rising Sun" from Dylan's first album, was eventually released on the 1995 CD-ROM Highway 61 Interactive, amid much confusion as to when it was recorded. The CD-ROM packaging implied that the whole recording was made in 1962.
The other three overdubbed songs, incidentally, were "Mixed Up Confusion", "Rocks And Gravel" and "Corrina Corrina". Dylan had recorded all of these with backing anyway; presumably the original backing tracks were completely stripped off before the new instrumental tracks were dubbed on.
Wilson later went on to repeat the experiment with Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence", without their knowledge; that one, of course, did get released.
